Dr Adepeju Adeniran

Dr. Adepeju Adeniran is an experienced public health physician with over 15 years of experience in public health, program design and management. She has worked for several years as a consultant to non-governmental, private and public-sector organizations, in the areas of health system strengthening focused on local lessons and solutions to Universal Healthcare Coverage. She is skilled in policy evaluation and analysis, for health systems research and science-to-table knowledge translation for program implementation.

She has served as lead program specialist at Hospital Assist Nigeria, a public-health consultancy firm that has served many state and national-level clients in health system strengthening and development.

She leads SRH services delivery at The Initiative for Equal Rights, and also is the Founder and National Co-chair of the Women in Global Health Nigeria, where she leads initiatives and advocacy for Gender parity in Global Health care leadership in Nigeria. She believes that low to middle income countries in the global south have significant insights to add the conversation on global health, and aligns her career in the direction of making these contributions palpable.

Benjamin Olowojebutu

Dr Benjamin is a  graduate of the prestigious College of Medicine University of Lagos. He is a detailed physician with postgraduate training in family medicine from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria with special interest in maternal and child health as well as an alumnus of the Healthcare Executive Leadership Programme (HELP)from the HLA.

He is a skilled surgeon with over 12 years experience who has worked successfully in several communities in West Africa. Under his Foundation- Benjamin Olowojebutu Foundation (BOF), over 2000 free surgeries has been performed in 12 states in Nigeria for folks suffering from Fibroids Hernias Lipomas and Breast lumps. He is the Executive Director and Lead Surgeon of the BOF Love team. He has very great communication skills passionate about improving access to quality health in Africa. Love and Compassion is the core of his life and practice.

He is a licensed member of the Medical and Dental Council Of Nigeria (MDCN), Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Association of Rural Surgeons of Nigeria (ARSON) and Associate Member of Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

Dr. Benjamin is the current Alumni President of the Healthcare Leadership Academy.

Dr Alex Nnadozie

Dr Alex Nnadozie is a qualified medical doctor and seasoned health education promoter with 10 years of practicing. He is a graduate of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, Nigeria.

Dr Alex is a Principal Medical Officer, Department of Surgery at the Gwarinpa General Hospital, Abuja and the host of the online platform- The African ER(Emergency Room) designed for experience sharing and networking of healthcare professionals across Africa. In the last five years, he has been on the remarkable mission of creating locally-adapted health content that highlights and addresses the harmful health practices peculiar to Africans as seen almost on-a-daily basis in the Emergency Departments of our hospitals because he believes that heavy disease burden affects a nation's development and delivery of care must be proactive in bridging the gaps.

On the show, guests who are experts in diverse medical fields present these conditions in simple, layman terms and even in local languages for the understanding of a wide African audience and to debunk myths that influence health-seeking behaviours which ultimately impact women's health outcomes, maternal mortality and other prevalent health conditions.  With over a dozen episodes recorded and disseminated via both traditional and digital media, with particular attention to women in the rural communities, the African ER's multi-dimensional impact is fast gaining grounds. 

In 2021, he joined the nonprofit- Patient Safety Africa. He was also a panelist alongside other African Healthcare Professionals at the October 2021 Africa Health Conference where he contributed insights on  “Competing priorities to Quality Improvement in the African Health Sector”.  He is currently undergoing a Masters in Public Health from the University of SouthWales, UK.

Dr Alex is community service-driven and demonstrates his commitment to improving general health and safety outcomes by delivering voluntary First AID training For Secondary Schools and Basket Ball clubs as well as training for Federal Road Safety Patrol Officers.
