Healthcare Financial Management Workshop 2019

On July 25th the Healthcare Leadership Academy kicked off the first Healthcare Financial Management Workshop, this workshop was crafted specifically for the healthcare sector with context-specific financial management skills.

The course is designed to equip healthcare professionals who are responsible for their organization's finance with the needed skills and knowledge to implement effective financial management systems.

 

Adesola Ogundiran was the lead instructor at the workshop, Adeshola is the Programme Lead, Private Sector Engagement (PSE), Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF), he has extensive experience and expertise in project finance, audit, risk management, private equity investment, IT assurance and financial

Advisory. In his capacity as PSE Lead, Adesola has engaged over 100 Medical Directors of private hospitals to support and strengthen their governance, financial management systems as well as their succession planning initiatives.

 

During this workshop, we had a special guest of honour, Mrs Fola Laoye, the Founder and CEO of Health Markets Africa, an advisory and

investment company.

Fola has had twenty-eight years of business experience, both locally and internationally, having trained with Ernst & Young, Lagos and Price Waterhouse Coopers in London and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

 

The inaugural class of the HFM workshop was made up of participants from various facilities from both the public and private sector. We had facilities like the Covenant University Medical Center, Lagoon Hospitals and Clinics, Ijede General Hospital, The Limi Hospital Group, Lakeshore Cancer Center, St Dominic Catholic Hospital, Nisa Fertility and Gynae Center, and Sonex Hospital.
